![]() | Jack WestChief Executive OfficerFounder and CEO of Country Place Living, Jack West pioneered the concept of rural, assisted senior living developments and has been focused on advancing the quality of life for seniors for more than 25 years. Prior to discovering his passion for improving the lives of Seniors, Mr. West served as vice president of a commercial bank in Wichita, Kan.; director of special markets for the nation’s second largest apartment developer; owner and operator of franchise restaurant brands; assistant vice president of a Real Estate Investment Trust; and founder and chief executive officer of The Homestead Companies. In 1982 he opened his first senior living complex, GeorgeTown Village Retirement Community in Wichita, Kan. Within this 200-apartment independent living community, Mr. West took senior living and care one step further than other senior facilities of the time. He introduced JamesTown Assisted Living Center, offering state-of-the-art health care services to seniors. Mr. West operated GeorgeTown Village until 1990 when he sold the property to a local health care provider. After GeorgeTown Village, Mr. West continued to refine his concept of assisted living through the development and operation of smaller assisted living residences in Pratt and Liberal, Kansas. Mr. West then developed and operated the successful Homestead Assisted Living concept in 10 communities in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. In February of 2003, Mr. West launched the Country Place Senior Living concept, his ideal design and brand for assisted-living facilities, which debuted to full occupancy in locations throughout Kansas. In 2007, he transitioned the company into a national franchisor to grow the concept for an aging population throughout the country. Today, Mr. West presides over a corporate team based in Dallas, which manages the growth of Country Place Living’s two branded concepts: Country Place Home Plus, a group home type residence with 8 bedrooms each with an attached private powder room; and Country Place Senior Living, an 18 apartment assisted living residence. Both concepts promote a sense of community and leading care designed to encourage resident independence, individuality, privacy and dignity. Mr. West is a graduate of Friends University in Wichita, Kan. with a degree in human resource management. |
